16.5mi to Allentown Shelter
Ankle stronger, Looooong day Lots of loose rocks, rock slides rock fields, and boulders. A rock, loose rock, rock slide, dose NOT make a trail! Two climbs of 1000′ Nice view from dan’s Pulpit. Last 4mi seemed like 10mi. Got into camp about dark, met B Floyd. Water was puddle .6mi from shelter steep down hill. Went to bed no dinner just drank a lot of water. Slept in tent like the dead. Woke next day feleing better.
14.7 to Windsor Furnace State Park
State park on weekend set up tent and ate a big dinner. Ankle feeling stronger today. Nice looking park.
15.1mi 501 to Eagle Nest
Family drove me back to the trail late thursday night. Walked to the shelter and it was full of people. Lucky most tented out. Bow legs with his dog Bono, Sniper, High Life.
First day back on the trail. Ankle very sore not strong. Almost called it quits if its going to be this painful no use in hurting myself. Took all day rested a lot. Lots of rocks got into camp about 6p ate. I’m the only one in shelter. Everyone else pushed on to Port Clinton for the Saturday Cookout.
